If one of our puppies has won your heart and you want to place a deposit down, please email us with any questions you may have and tell us a little about you. Naturally, we're protective of our puppies and make sure they're going to a great pet home and/or that the puppy and owner are a great match. All of our puppies come with AKC Limited Registration (unless otherwise stated) which means for "pet only"/no breeding rights. Papers will be provided once a spay/neuter certificate has been issued by a veterinarian. Thank you for your understanding.
We do not take deposits to hold a pup until the puppy is born and everyone on the list (first come/first serve basis) has been contacted. At that time, they will choose their puppy or not. In some cases, we have to wait a week or so to determine color but pups must be chosen by five weeks old and puppies on hold must be paid in full by 9 weeks of age/before pick up or at pick up which is no later than 10 weeks of age unless other arrangements have been made. To hold a pup of your choosing, we require a $200 non-refundable deposit. This deposit is an agreement that you will sign a contract for and be committing to adopt the puppy you chose. We take PayPal or cash. To place a deposit on PayPal, please make it to firstname.lastname@example.org and there is a 4% fee you need to add for its use.
We offer a one year health guarantee against life threatening genetic defects which is to be determined by two veterinarians (yours and ours). This does not cover communicable diseases in which the puppy caught in the new owner's care. We highly recommend not exposing a puppy to dog parks, unclean yards, vet clinics, pet supply stores/public places until all vaccinations have been complete ( 18 weeks and beyond). It's vital to ask your veterinarian's office if any patients with highly contagious illnesses were in the clinic that day. Many times, they'll come to the car and administer a vaccination shot. Always closely monitor your pup/dog after a vaccination shot and have Benedryl on hand in case of a local reaction. We give the 5 way puppy vaccine and not the Lepto shot (due to dachshunds commonly reacting to this shot) unless the area in which you reside is having an increased amount of incidents of Lepto. In that case, we recommend a Lepto shot at 9 weeks and beyond. We provide and require a contract signing, vaccinations/deworming records or any vet records before our pups leave our care. We do not knowingly sell our pups to pet stores or what we call an industry/ puppy mill.
We highly recommend your homework be done before bringing your puppy home. Know what to expect, read and watch You Tube dog training videos such as Caesar Milan-Dog Whisperer is a great one for subjects dealing with: house training/pee pad training, yard training, biting and eating things they shouldn't eat, barking/separation anxiety, etc. Lots of love, patience, time and consistency is essential for the first year of their life especially. They're their own unique personality and have been given a great start here in their first 8 weeks of their life.
If for some reason you can no longer keep your pup you adopted from us, they're welcome back with us and/or we can help you place him or her in a responsible forever new home.
We ordinarily do not ship but some people choose to fly with their puppy. A health certificate is required and is an additional $65. We suggest you buy a carry on type crate and send it to us ahead of time so that we can train and prepare your pup for the flight. I may consider flying with the pup to you as well (depending on timing and logistics) for an additional $100. On occasion, we can drive to meet for pup pick up but no further than 60 miles away (unless discussed and agreed on another arrangement) and for a fee of $50 for every 60 miles of travel. Before flying, our vet will do a thorough health exam which is guaranteed from the day of the exam.
Our puppies go home at 9 weeks of age if they're ready to go and any pups requested to stay beyond 10 weeks of age is $50 a week for boarding but your pup must be picked up no later than 12 weeks of age. A date will be set for pup pick up once your puppy is chosen. Thank you!
We also have some nice adults offered for homes on an occasion. We would need to discuss this with you in depth. They would be spayed/neutered and teeth cleaned before leaving our care and the rehoming fee is around $200 for the vet care cost incurred.
